As a follow on from the story of 24 things Cross posted from the Xenodochion...

1. I know that God loves me (and you)
2. I know that I love Zoë, her bothers and her mother unconditionally (even if I don’t act like it sometimes).
3. I know that there is an objective physical, moral and spiritual world that we interact with.
4. I know that it is good to ask questions.
5. I know that Zoë’s mother, her brothers and her love me.
6. I know that I am not a morning person.
7. I know that I love learning new things.
8. I know that there are “laws” in the universe (i.e. physics, logic, ethics, Truth) even if we can’t (even in principle) ever fully understand them (though I hope we can one day).
9. I know that I cannot properly explain how I know these things.
10. I know that not being able to properly explain these things does not mean that I don’t know.
11. I know that truth is often stranger than fiction.
12. I know that sunsets (and a great many other things besides) are beautiful.
13. I know that I have dreams that I am very unlikely to accomplish (particularly writing a novel and learning to fly a plane).
14. I know that while the best indicator of future behaviour is past behaviour (which 13 is based on) that people do changes (and this gives me hope that I might accomplish these dreams, even when I have the knowledge that I probably won’t)
15. I know that Science cannot explain everything in the universe and people shouldn’t expect it too. It can’t even adequately explain how I know this, or how I know that I know this stuff.
16. I know that despite this significant constraint Science can explain a great many things and is a very useful tool.
17. I know that it is a greater thing to love someone than to have them agree with me.
18. I know that it is a good thing to stand up for ones’s convictions – even when the stand is costly and/or painful.
19. I know that there is far more that I don’t know, and will never know, that these things that I do know.
20. I know that I love hugs.
21. I know that I love role playing.
22. I know that the only day I have to live in is today.
23. I know that I often don’t live like I know 22.
24. I know that I love telling stories.

Whew, that's a lot harder than it sounds.

I wonder whether or not I my list would be the same in 10 years. I suspect that much of it would, but wouldn't be surprised if things change...
