One thing watching the movie Gabriel did for me was make me reach for my old In Nomine rulebook. It has me jonesing to run a game of it. I have wanted to run an In Nomine game for years but never have.
I once started a campaign that was set in Unknown Armies and would eventually lead to an In Nomine crossover, but it never really got off the ground. I also once tried to start a loosely Unknown Armies/In Nominae cross over as a live game, it lasted one session I think.
And that had me in Teh Interweb looking up the books. Apparently I can get a few of them electronically at e23, the digital arm of Steve Jackson games publishing. And on there I saw they had a bunch of Ars Magica e-books and I got to thinking about how much I love that game and would like to run it. And how much I'd like to collect the books, both from the current 5th ed and much of the older stuff too.
I had even planned an Ars Magica In Nominae cross over. It would have been tres cool.
And then I got to thinking about the one game I dearly would love to get, and run, a game from 1987, Living Steel. It's a game set in a very distant post apocalyptic future. The system is overly complex (reflecting it's war game origins) but the setting is very cool and very fun. Oh how I would live to run a campaign in that game.
I have this urge to go and buy up all these old books so I can let them gather dust on my shelves (as the chances of me running any of these games is zero to zilch I think).
I even found the living steel core book and a supplement on Amazon. But they are really expensive, as if they are now being sold as collectors items. Which they are I guess.
Sadly I don't have the cash to get any of this stuff. So I'll just be left sadly cruising fan sites (yes, I can hear the very small violin playing)
